Chicago Rink Rats Exhibit Continues through Nov. 4

ElmSkatingSign_newsflash

Take a trip back to the glory days of roller skating to learn about the "rink rats"—the regulars at the legendary Chicago area skating venues. Learn about the history of America’s favorite 1950’s pastime and popular rinks through video footage and rare photos and artifacts. Find out about The Elm, Elmhurst’s own skating rink that closed in the 1980s, and other Chicagoland rinks. View special artifacts such as a skating costume worn by Skating Vanities’ star Gloria Nord, trophies, skating gear, and more. Inspired by the book by author Tom Russo.
