November 4, 2017 - November 18, 2017 @ Elmhurst College Barbara A. Kieft Accelerator ArtSpace
In 2014, Elmhurst College received a generous gift of eight important paintings from the estate of New York & Chicago-based painter Ellen Lanyon (1926-2013). Often identified with the Chicago Imagists, Lanyon’s Surrealist “dreamscapes” combine plants, animals and everyday objects into compositions that reflect her own private mythology. This exhibit is a onetime opportunity to view the entire body of work Lanyon bequeathed to the College. The public reception will feature a panel discussion.
