In the show, a terrible water shortage has led to a ban on private toilets. The citizens must use public amenities regulated by a malevolent company that profits by charging admission for one of humanities most basic needs. Before all hope drains away, a hero must arise to save the People! The show won 3 Tonys, including for Best Original Score and Best Book of a Musical.

View contemporary artworks by more than 50 living, local artists, in a diverse array of media and styles, including paintings, ceramics, photography, sculpture, collage, digital and mixed media. Members of the Elmhurst Artists' Guild include professional artists, corporate art directors, educators, feature film animation artists, woodcut print makers, tombstone carvers and self-taught artists.Opening reception is free, Friday, Sep 29, from 7-9pm. Most artworks are for sale.

Thark By Ben Travers; Directed by Erik Wagner Sir Benbow’s wife is out of town and he has invited the beautiful Cherry for a questionable evening alone. But Lady Benbow has returned! His nephew is quick to not think too quickly – “This is Cherry – she’s going to buy the house!” Oh, and the place might be haunted! Confused? So are we! Ben Travers was the most prolific playwright of farce in the 1920s and ‘30s, and this new adaptation brings all the wacky craziness to modern audiences.

Three Chicago-based, Latino artists will exhibit their works on paper this fall at Elmhurst College. Herman Aguirre, Javier Chavira and Gabriel Villa are stylistically diverse artists who work in a variety of media. Each artist expresses a very personal vision. Aguirre’s images are concerned with issues of loss and human fragility. Chavira’s drawings reference nature and celebrate the beauty of abstraction. Villa’s works portray the struggle of everyday life and the human condition.

The Elmhurst Artists’ Guild will host the annual Fall Members Show, featuring a variety of its members’ original artwork from Sept 24, 2017 through Nov 4, 2017. The public is invited to the free opening reception on Friday, Sept 29, 2017. The Fall Members Show presents the contemporary artwork of 50-plus emerging local artists from the greater Chicago area. Printmaker Ben Calvert will exhibit “Josh’s Rocks,” a softly colored woodblock relief print on paper, inspired by a hike in Joshua Tree National Park. The exhibition can be viewed during regular Museum hours, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm and Friday from 11 am to 7 pm. Admission is $9 adults/$8 seniors except the first Friday of each month which is the Museum’s free admission day. EAM and Guild members, students and children under 18 are admitted free. The EAG gallery is not-for-profit, operated by the Elmhurst Artists’ Guild. It features contemporary artworks in a variety of styles and media.
