Disco Explosion Community Event
Time: 3-6 p.m.
The Elmhurst History Museum kicks off the Disco Demolition summer exhibit and everything ‘70s with a little disco…and a little rock ‘n’ roll! Bring the family and neighbors and have a blast:
- Grammy-winning rock star and songwriter Jim Peterik (co-writer of “Eye of the Tiger,” “Vehicle” and 18 top 10 hits) performs two of his big hits along with School of Rock;
- The Shagadelics band brings the fun and the funk with disco gems;
- Hear longtime Chicago ball park organist Nancy Faust play fan favorites;
- “Disco Demolition” book author Dave Hoekstra and photographer Paul Natkin will sign copies of their book (available for purchase in museum gift shop);
- Watch a pro roller skater demonstrate skating skills to disco music;
- Tour the Disco Demolition exhibit inside the museum;
- DJ Oliver spins music from the era and guests can take a pic in the photo booth
- Ice cream for sale by Brain Freeze
Note: The previously publicized appearance by Steve Trout has been cancelled. Limited seating will be available under the tent. BYO lawn chair or blanket for sitting on the lawn.
