NEW! MUSEUM EXPLORERS CAMP PILOT PROGRAM
JUNE 11-15, 2018
Elmhurst History Museum, 120 E. Park Ave., Elmhurst


Are you looking for a unique camp experience for your kids? Try something new this year and be a part of a pilot program designed for curious kids who love to learn and have fun: Museum Explorers Camp at the Elmhurst History Museum! Campers entering 2nd-5th grade will have the opportunity to visit various cultural institutions in and around Elmhurst, while participating in STEM activities, crafts, games and making new friends in a welcoming and inclusive environment! This pilot program will only take place for one week in 2018 (June 11-15) and registration begins on March 12th.
COST: $210 FOR 1 WEEK, M-F

TIME: M-F, 9 a.m-3 p.m. (drop off at 8:45 a.m.)

PLANNED ACTIVITIES FOR 2018 MUSEUM EXPLORERS CAMP:
Monday, June 11th (Elmhurst History Museum)
• Learn to draw Snoopy cartoons and make Snoopy crafts
• Become a master paper airplane builder
• Make and float a boat

Tuesday, June 12th (Lizzadro Museum of Lapidary Art)
• Learn to identify rocks and minerals
• Make a volcano and watch it erupt
• Make a rock pet of your very own to take home

Wednesday, June 13th (Elmhurst Art Museum)
• Make an art project with an Art Museum Educator
• Learn about famous artists from the past
• Create your own masterpiece to take home

Thursday, June 14th (Trailside Museum)
• Take a Metra ride field trip to River Forest
• Hike on Nature Trails and make your own trail mix
• Tour the animal displays and have an animal encounter

Friday, June 15th (Churchville Schoolhouse & Fischer Farm)
• Experience a 1910 school day with the schoolmarm
• Hike to Fischer Farm to meet the animals
• Play old-fashioned games and make crafts
• Drop off and pick up at Churchville Schoolhouse (Church Rd. just north of Grand Ave.
in Bensenville)
