Hometown Holiday: It’s a Wonderful Life in Elmhurst

With memorable characters like George Bailey, Clarence the guardian angel, Zuzu, and even the notorious Mr. Potter, “It’s a Wonderful Life” stands the test of time as one of America’s favorite holiday movies. Experience the nostalgia and sentiment of Frank Capra’s 1946 film though a private collection from Richard Goodson of rare memorabilia including vintage posters, photographs, collectibles, and more. Find out about the making of the movie, the characters and actors, fun facts about the movie, and the challenges the filmmakers faced to bring Bedford Falls to life on screen. Additional objects from EHM’s collection will be on display, including handmade ornaments from Dresden, Germany and original prints by former Elmhurst resident Lee Sturges, a well-known American artist and etcher. Exhibit sponsor: Lakeside Bank.
