February 4 through June 5, 2022
Since the end of the Ice Age, people have taken advantage of DuPage County’s location and natural environment to provide for the needs of their families and communities. Gain a deeper understanding of the Native people who lived in the area through an archeological lens and learn about how they survived and interacted with their neighbors. Find out about the scientific methods used by archaeologists to locate and excavate sites and make sense of the evidence they discover. Featured displays include a timeline comparing tribes from different archaeological eras; a video depicting the displacement of Native people in the 18th and 19th centuries; artifacts from archaeological sites in northeastern Illinois including tools, arrowheads, pottery and more.
