Book Reading:  My Father, in Snow

Time: 2 p.m.

In this beautiful family memoir, former Elmhurst resident and author E. Sheila Johnson’s lyrical remembrances alternate with the testimony of her eight brothers and sisters to form a loving portrait of their father. Set in Elmhurst during the 1950s and early 1960s, Johnson will read excerpts from her book, “My Father, In Snow,” and take the reader inside her big family’s life, highlighting the intense contrast between its warmth and the sometimes cold outside world.  The author will sign books following the program. Co-presented by Elmhurst History Museum and Elmhurst Public Library.
